Privacy Notice
Last updated: 17 August 2026
Globe Regent Tech Solutions LTD, a company registered in Israel, operates ReadMe and is the data controller for the personal data described here. This notice explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.
Data we collect and why
- Account data — your name, email address, profile photo and sign-in identifier, received from Google when you sign in with Google. Used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Preferences — your default languages and tone settings. Used to personalise the app. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Content you submit — text you paste or upload, and the translations produced from it. Processed to deliver the translation or audio you requested, and stored in your history so you can revisit it. Legal basis: contract performance. Do not submit special-category or highly sensitive personal data.
- Usage and metering data — credits consumed, character counts, request type, timestamps and language pairs. Used to meter your plan, prevent abuse, and produce aggregate product statistics. Legal basis: contract performance and our legitimate interest in running a sustainable, secure service.
- Subscription and credit records — plan, status, billing period, and credit purchases, received from our payment provider. Used to grant the entitlements you paid for. Legal basis: contract performance and legal obligation.
- Technical and security data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs generated when you use the app. Used for security, fraud prevention and diagnosing faults. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — what you send us when you contact support, used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not receive or store your full card details. Payment data is collected directly by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
Who we share data with
- Merchant of Record — Paddle.com Market Limited, which sells the product to you and handles checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds.
- Infrastructure and model providers — our hosting, database and authentication providers, and the AI providers that perform machine translation and speech synthesis on the text you submit. They act as our service providers and process data on our instructions.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your content for advertising.
International transfers
We are based in Israel and our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and the United States. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the European Commission's adequacy decision for Israel) or on Standard Contractual Clauses with appropriate safeguards.
Retention
- Account and preference data — kept while your account exists.
- Saved translations — kept until you delete them or delete your account. You can delete any item from your history at any time.
- Usage, credit and billing records — kept while your account exists and afterwards where needed for tax, accounting and legal obligations.
- Security and error logs — kept for a short period, then deleted.
When data is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or anonymise it. Aggregate statistics that no longer identify you may be retained.
Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you — including Israel's Protection of Privacy Law and, where applicable, the UK/EU GDPR — you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, a portable copy, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise a right, email globe.corp.office@gmail.com. We respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest with our hosting provider, database-level access rules that restrict each record to the account that owns it, and least-privilege access for administrative operations. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the relevant authorities of a qualifying breach as required by law.
Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and tone preferences, and secure the checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. If we later add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first and provide a preference control. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though signing in will stop working without the essential ones.
Children
ReadMe is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice; the date above shows the current version, and we will flag material changes in the app. Contact Globe Regent Tech Solutions LTD at globe.corp.office@gmail.com for any privacy question.
